Tarangire is a yearround safari destination, though the dry season offers prime wildlife viewing as zebra, wildebeest, buffalo, and rare species like Fringeeared Oryx and eland gather at waterholes. The park is also home to pythons, often seen coiled in tree branches, and a rich variety of birds, particularly in the southern marshlands.
After breakfast, depart Tarangire and head towards Lake Manyara National Park. Enjoy a game drive through its diverse landscapes, followed by a scenic picnic lunch.
Lake Manyara is famous for its vast soda lake, which covers twothirds of the park and attracts thousands of flamingos and waterbirds. Keep an eye out for baboons, treeclimbing lions, and hippos, as well as the park’s unique blend of groundwater forests, swamps, acacia woodlands, and hot springs.
In the afternoon, leave the park and continue to Karatu for your overnight stay at a lodge with stunning views over the highlands.
