Africa is a land of breathtaking beauty, unparalleled wildlife, and vibrant communities. As stewards of the safari experience, we believe it’s our responsibility to give back and protect what makes this continent so extraordinary. With countless charities doing vital work in Africa, deciding which ones to support was no small task. After extensive research and reflection, we chose to partner with the African Wildlife Foundation (AWF) and the Wildlife Conservation Network (WCN) for their outstanding impact and alignment with our values.
A key factor in selecting AWF and WCN was their exceptional ratings on platforms like Charity Navigator, which assess transparency, accountability, and effectiveness. These organizations not only demonstrate a strong commitment to wildlife conservation but also ensure that resources are used responsibly and efficiently.
Both AWF and WCN stand out for their innovative approaches to protecting endangered species and their ecosystems. Their work goes beyond conservation—it fosters sustainable solutions that benefit wildlife and the communities that coexist with them. This balance of ecological and human focus makes them ideal partners in our mission.
Deciding where to direct our donations raised an important question: Should we prioritize human development or wildlife conservation?
After much reflection, we chose wildlife conservation, not because human-focused causes lack importance, but because supporting wildlife inherently supports humans too. Wildlife tourism and conservation programs create jobs, fund education, and foster sustainable livelihoods for communities that coexist with these ecosystems. This approach is not mutually exclusive—it’s deeply interconnected. Moreover, animals are innocent; they have no voice of their own and face threats created by human activity. Protecting them is not only a moral responsibility but also a way to ensure the prosperity of both ecosystems and the people who rely on them.
Our commitment to giving back is not a side initiative—it’s embedded in how we grow and operate as a company. We believe that as we expand, so should our positive impact. This philosophy ensures that our success contributes directly to preserving Africa’s natural heritage and supporting the people and wildlife that make it so special.
Talk is cheap without action. That’s why we’ve "operationalized" our charitable efforts, creating a seamless connection between everyday interactions and meaningful donations. For example, when guests share their safari photos with us for use on social media, or when they refer friends and family, these actions often trigger donations to our conservation partners.
This approach ensures that giving back is integrated into our business model, allowing us to align customer engagement with meaningful contributions. It’s a win-win: our guests’ participation amplifies our impact, and our growth as a company translates into even greater support for the causes we care about.
Supporting AWF and WCN allows us to be part of something bigger than ourselves. These organizations don’t just protect animals; they safeguard the ecosystems and communities that depend on them. By partnering with them, we’re investing in a future where Africa’s beauty and biodiversity endure for generations to come.
We invite you to join us in this journey. Whether it’s through your safari experience or personal support of these incredible organizations, every action counts. Together, we can make a difference—for the animals, for the people, and for the soul of Africa.
