Bontebok National Park forms part of the gorgeous and world-renowned Cape Floral Kingdom, a natural spectacle of beautiful flora now designated as a Natural Heritage Site by UNESCO. 'Lang Elsie' has been designed according to the area's overriding principals of functionality with minimal impact - situated near the Breede River, this self-catering accommodation is a welcome and unobtrusive part of the surrounding environment, clean, quiet, and friendly.
Accommodation
Caravan and tented camping sites, hosting up to a maximum of six people each. The main camping area is situated behind the chalets. These site have powerpoint, communal kitchen and ablutions. The campsites along the Breede river do not have power only a tap for water. For the use of the ablution facilities guest need to walk up to the camping area.
Activities & Facilities
Activities available to guests include hiking, mountain biking, and walking trails, game viewing (self-drive), birding, and river activities.
River activities:
Swimming can be done in the rest camp and at Die Stroom
Angling, you need a valid angling permit(which is available for purchase at reception), own equipment
Canoeing and kayaking (no power boats allowed), own equipment
Bontebok facilities include picnic sites and braai (barbecue) facilities, ablution units for day and overnight visitors, and a shop for basic commodities. Groceries and fresh produce can be purchased in Swellendam, as well as fuel.
