Madikwe Safari Lodge is situated in the 75 000 hectare malaria-free Madikwe Game Reserve, located north-west of Johannesburg and bordering Gaborone, Botswana. The area is well known for providing the best game viewing within the Reserve, as well as having the lowest concentration of safari vehicles, which makes for a superior Big 5 game viewing experience.
Children of ages are welcome at Lelapa Lodge. Child rates are applicable.
Children's activities and childminding are available.
Kopana and Dithaba Lodge only permit children over the age of 16 years.
Dithaba will accept children of all ages if the lodge is booked exclusively.
Three unique luxury lodges offer intimate accommodation with sweeping views over the game-filled plains with the Dwarsberg range forming a purple-hued backdrop.
Lelapa Lodge offers 12 comfortable, spacious Suites with double bed (convertible to twins), air-conditioning, ceiling fan, bathroom en-suite, safe, minibar, direct-dial telephone, hairdryer and a range of deluxe amenities.
Two rooms are Family Suites and have a second bedroom with children’s bunk beds, and sleeper couch. There are many activities available for children including family safari drives, bush orientation, bug CSI, dung tracking, track pack with Plaster of Paris, baking in the kitchen, making pizzas in the boma, star gazing, games night and much more.
Kopano Lodge offers 4 Suites, each with double bed (convertible to twins), air-conditioning, fireplace, ceiling fan, bathroom en-suite, outdoor shower, private plunge pool, safe, minibar, direct-dial telephone, hairdryer and a range of deluxe amenities.
With only 4 Suites, Dithaba Lodge is well suited to a group of friends or family members. Each suite has a double bed (convertible to twins), private plunge pool, air-conditioning, fireplace, ceiling fan, bathroom en-suite, outdoor shower, safe, minibar, direct-dial telephone, hairdryer and a range of deluxe amenities.
Lodge facilities include a wellness spa, relaxation area, Wi-Fi access, outdoor dining area and private viewing deck.
Activities offered at Madikwe Safari Lodge include morning and evening game drives in open safari vehicles, bush walks, bird watching, astronomy, ecology house and local community village tour, bush dining and spa treatments.
Madikwe Game Reserve has a rich biodiversity of mammals, including Africa’s Big Five, 66 large mammal species and 300 recorded bird species.

Outstanding Experience! (Cape Town, Sabi Sands, Vic Falls)
After attempting to book this trip myself (a couple coming from the US), I gave up and reached out to Sara from Safari.com. I told Sara what I was thinking and by the next day she had created several wonderful itineraries! Based on her suggestions, we personalized the itineraries and within 7 days I was booked and all set!! Sara was available at all times (before, during, and after the trip). We are currently heading home and we are so happy with all the bookings Sara created for us! Everything went flawlessly. Her 3rd parties for tours and transfers were perfect (always early, professional, knowledgeable, and kind). The hotel acknowledged our anniversary thanks to Sara. We stayed at the Victoria & Alfred hotel in Cape Town, then off to Dulini Moya in Sabi Sands, and finally Victoria Falls Island Treehouse in Zimbabwe. I highly recommend all of them. Tell Sara what you envision your experience to be and your budget and she will make it happen!! Her knowledge was so helpful in assisting us to choose the perfect itinerary.
