The ambiance at Little Chem Chem is inviting, sophisticated, and brimming with genuine safari charm. Majestic elephants traverse between waterholes; cheetahs chase prey on the open plains; elusive leopards are occasionally spotted; and eland and lesser kudu inhabit the denser woodlands, while ions can be heard calling to each other at night as they roam the area. The camp boasts stunning views of freshwater Lake Burunge, with the Babati mountain range and a breathtaking backdrop to the southwest. On the northeast, you will see the hills of Tarangire visible in the distance.

5 Luxury Vintage Tents
Nicknamed the sunrise camp, Little Chem Chem is located on the eastern side of the concession. This cozy camp offers five beautifully adorned vintage tents. Each tent includes a large bedroom (three with king-size beds and two with twin beds), a rocking chair, a study desk, a vanity area with a dressing room, and an en-suite bathroom with a shower and flushing toilet.
Embracing an 'Out-of-Africa' ambiance, every tent also features a private fire pit, where you can relax by the flames while the sounds of the African night come alive around you.
1 Luxury Vintage Family Tent
A two-bedroom canvas family tent, ideal for families of up to 2 adults and 3 children.
This luxurious tent includes a large king-size bed in the main bedroom, while the children's room is furnished with two twin beds. Each room has its vanity area, dressing room, en-suite shower, and flushing toilet.

Private Game Drives on the Concession
At Little Chem Chem, each booking includes a private vehicle and guide (subject to availability). Explore the wilderness with an expert guide in a 4x4 Land Rover, accommodating five to eight passengers. With 16,000 hectares, you'll never encounter a crowd. Look out for elephants, leopards, lions, cheetahs, giraffes, and zebras.
Sundowners on Lake Burunge
Enjoy the spectacular African sunset with sundowners on the edge of Lake Burunge, the perfect way to end your day.
Day Trips to Tarangire National Park

Planning Our Family African Safari Experience
Planning our first trip to Africa was a really big deal for us. After careful review of numerous safari planners, we selected safari.com and worked with Nicole Van der Merwe. There's a lot of parts in putting together such a vacation including ground transfers, hotels, activities, and flights. Aquilia Safari trip
Re: Safari from Cape Town to Aquilia. Fadiel was very helpful and organised our trip for us. We were picked up by Joe, who was our driver for the day. Joe is born and raised in Cape Town. He was prompt and was very friendly and informative. There was a good choice of food at Aquilia and had choices for my husband too who is Coeliac.

Mel is friendly and patient
I would usually book my trips myself. Lucky for me I sent off an enquiry to Safari.com and received Mel's wonderful help. Mel responded quickly and made me feel comfortable with Safari.com. organising my trip. Later on, when I realised my dates didn't work with the rest of my trip, Mel gave me my options and costings and rebooked for me. Mel was very patient and friendly.
