Chobe Bakwena Lodge is an exclusive, privately owned eco-retreat nestled along the serene banks of the Chobe River. This once-empty land has been meticulously transformed from a barren soccer field into a luxurious sanctuary, offering a tranquil refuge for discerning guests and the wildlife that graces this exquisite haven.

Rates: Free for children aged 0-2 years, 3-11 years pay 50% of the adult per-person sharing rate, and children 12+ years pay the full price. Private activities are required for families traveling with children 11 years and under.
Bakwena Lodge features 15 uniquely designed chalets. Guests can choose between ten River-View Chalets overlooking the Chobe River and five elevated Treetop Chalets offering stunning canopy views.
The lodge embodies understated elegance and top-notch service. It provides an all-inclusive safari experience in a prime location renowned for exceptional game viewing, particularly its large elephant herds. Activities focus on land and water safaris, all organized by the lodge. Additional options include guided bike tours and sundowner cruises at the unique confluence of four countries.
Bakwena’s eco-friendly practices include a plant-filtered natural pool, sustainable employment initiatives, thoughtful food choices, and eco-conscious construction designed to minimize environmental impact.
Riverine Chalets

These include a Honeymoon Suite and a Family Room. Riverine Chalets are located along the riverfront, immersed in an indigenous riverine forest.
Treetop Chalets
5 Treetop Chalets | Sleeps 2 (Twin/King)
Treetop Chalets are elevated 3 meters above ground, surrounded by a serene tree canopy.
Family Chalet
1 Family Chalet | Sleeps 2 adults & 2 children
This chalet features a king-size bed and 3/4-sized twin beds. Its deck overlooks the Chobe River, creating the perfect spot to discuss the day’s activities.
Honeymoon Chalet

Lana has been super helpful in addressing all our needs in timely manner. Due to her efforts, be believe we are going to have a great trip. Safari.com needs to get better exchange rate as well as lower the credit card payment fees. We were charged in excess of 3% plus bit higher exchange rate.

Great Booking experience
I was reccommended to safari.com by a fellow traveller . From the moment I reached out to safari.com , the experience has exceeded by expectations. We worked with Lana for the booking process and I can tell you that she was very patient with us answering numerous questions. She also came up with multiple itineraries for us to choose from. She also hopped on a call with us pretty late in her time zone. Really appreciate that. While our travel dates are not until later this year, I am hoping that safari.com continues to provide the best experience during our travel.

Out of Afica
Lana organised our trip and every aspect of it was perfect. We went to Kambaku River Sands. You can see my review on trip advisor. The experience was faultless and I do not think we could have had a better experience anywhere in Africa. Utterly amazing and what was key was Lana’s ability to match what we wanted to the exactly right lodge/safari. Thank you.
