Just had a great experience booking a South Africa safari
Just had a great experience booking a 19 day safari with Shann from Safari.com. Typically we plan & book our own trips because (1) we enjoy the planning (2) we like knowing the options, costs, tradeoffs and (3) we like to have control over the itinerary. However, a safari seemed overwhelming in terms of where to go in Africa, which lodges to select, and how to transfer between game reserves. Shann was awesome from the beginning. After a few quick emails we set up a live call and based upon her guidance we actually changed up which countries we were planning to visit (I'm uncomfortable with small plans / airstrips which would have made our initial trip plans challenging with long drive times). We shared with Shann what our goal was (Big game.... big cats... not so much birds) with different lodge experiences and if possible, different landscapes / wildlife. Shann was incredibly efficient in sending us an initial quick pass at an itinerary based on our call. We gave the thumbs up and she then sent an itinerary with lodge options (4 locations and a total 9 different lodges) with pricing! That allowed us to pick the lodges that appealed the most to us with knowledge of the pricing. We easily selected from her initial recommendations, even though she offered to provide more choices if the initial ones didn't appeal. Boom, just like that we had a final itinerary with pricing that was clear to us and totally matched our wishes. I think it we accomplished all this in less than two weeks.

Made everything easy
Shann Shaw and safari.com have been incredibly helpful throughout the booking process. Shann replies promptly to all queries and has facilitated multiple legs of our trip to South Africa. I couldn't recommend them more highly.
