Activities & Facilities

There are a number of activities available in the park and surrounding towns. The park offers a great diversity of flora with approximately 2000 species of indigenous plants, including 100 that are endemic to the area, and over 110 Red Data Book species.  Although most species bloom between May and September, there are flowers to be enjoyed in any season.

This is the southernmost tip of Africa (Agulhas), where the Atlantic and Indian oceans meet officially at 34° 49’ 58" South and 20° 00’ 12’’ East. The rough seas off Cape Agulhas were treacherous for early explorers and a number of shipwrecks can be found along the coastline, including the wrecks of the Zoetendal, Birkenhead, Arniston and Meisho Maru 38.

The nearby Bredasdorp Shipwreck museum showcases the stories and remnants of these fateful voyagers. The Cape Agulhas Lighthouse was built to aid the early explorers and is a museum, as well as the second oldest working lighthouse in southern Africa. Remains of ancient stone fish traps used by the Khoisan people can be seen to the east of the lighthouse.

There are no facilities in the park, restaurants, pubs, shops, banks, and other facilities are available in the nearby towns of L’Agulhas, Struisbaai or Bredasdorp.

What our guests have said about this accommodation

KATHLEEN
We stayed in the new tented camp site and it was amazing from the moment you entered you were treated like a royal .we were 6 and the site only holds 6 and we were the first guest .saw plenty of animals but when you game drive over and you enjoyed your dinner take some time to look at the night sky it was amazing hope to go back one day
Peter Adelfang
We were very pleased with the cleanliness and appearance of the cottage. The toilet itself still needs to be refastened by maintenance, but the self catering thatch dwellings are very comfortable. We enjoyed the view and the fynbos walks from there. We would go back.
Paul George
Second stay at Agulhas national park. Every day was one of the best and we will be returning to this relatively unknown park.
John Crafford
We were a bit early for entering but were received with utmost friendliness and all explained courteously. At the entrance gate on arrival and departure we were treated like royalty visiting for the first time as if they were expecting and waiting for only us to arrive. Sanparks well done. This is how we came to know you The accommodation everything you could wish for.
J P CILLIERS
Very nice chalet's in a wonderful setting.
DAVID BRUCE
Outstanding accommodation. The furniture & equipment is first class.

This is the place along the coast where you are the closest to the sea and the comfort and caring staff makes this a venue not to be missed. This is also probably the Southern most holiday house in Africa--We were seven adults and all of us were in agreement that this is therapy for the soul and we should have stayed longer. Well done, Sanparks!

Douglas Blaine
The cottage surrounds were undergoing building works and tidying up. Tariff should have been reduced accordingly. The area is very pleasant and remote, but little info is available of what can be seen or should be visited nearby. There was no info on the nearby wetlands and interesting looking meandering river, where canoes are available for use by visitors. Despite this being a Sanparks manged area. We enjoyed the cottage and the flamingos on the nearby salt pans.
Carol Hemsley
Very well appointed chalets. Appreciated DSTV because of French Open final and F1 GP! Lovely walks but would like to drive further west along the coast! Should have spent 2 nights at Agulhas, instead of 1! Sign posting in Agulhas itself not very clear.

Safari booked. SA here I come.
I have never been to SA before, so naturally I was a bit apprehensive about booking a safari on my own. I turned to safari.com for help and I'm so glad I did. Keith was so helpful, patient and saved me money! That's a win, win, win. I would recommend safari.com to anyone planning their trip and their experiences in SA.

Trip planning made easily and with kindness!
I was in need of help quickly to book a place to stay for 6 people. I wasn’t sure if I should drive or fly and Pascal helped me so quickly and was so kind and patient. He texted with me, called me and was wonderful to work with. He provided me with 2 quotes and helped me through the booking process. Looking forward to our trip!

Heleen went out of her way to find us accommodation. We left our planning way to late and were looking at the busiest time of year yet she worked her magic.

I highly recommend Shann Shaw
Shann Shaw has been great to work with and she has tried her best to try to meet our budget expectations. She is very kind, responsive and detailed in her explanations and really, really helpful. When I told her I decided to book through expedia or booking, she still explained how everything worked and how these websites sometimes don't have all the details you need, yet, she work hard in getting us our flights and the hotel that we really wanted for this experience. I couldn't be happier with her service and dedication and highly recommend her services!
